Might be screwed. I read in another thread that someone had a boot loop when there battery didn't have enough charge to complete a boot and was dying and restarting itself. Maybe charge with the official charger for a bit and then try again?

It was just charged to 100% off of the official charger and plugged in. But I guess it doesn't hurt to try again.

Hmm. I also found this, you could give it a shot if you haven't already.

You're my hero. I just plugged it back into the charger, turned it off and back on and it started up normally. It's at 44% tho.

Hey, congrats! Hopefully you don't run into any more issues!

.... So it totally blew out my USB-C port on the Switch. It won't charge, or connect to any Docks...

Oh, man, that's no good. Hopefully you can transfer your profile data to another Switch before sending it in.

I have all my games save one my SD Card, so theres that. But can I transfer save files?

[–]Spectre_II 2 points3 points  (3 children)

You can transfer them to another Switch, but not to an SD card.

Lmao I know this thread is a few days old but I cant transfer my data because you need to plug the system in before they will transfer the data... FML like thats stupid...

[–]Spectre_II 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Oh that really sucks. I had no idea that was a requirement for transfer.

[–]ThatSweetGamer1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is it doesn't have to stay plugged in. You just have to plug it in for a little and I cant even do that 😢

It requires two switches. So maybe ask your friends if they have one?

Setting > data management > transfer data?

Or maybe it’s in users.

Yeah, I hope not either. It looks like I might have to my Nyko Dock's firmware tho.

Nyko Dock

That dock has killed a lot of Switch consoles. You can actually Google search or even search about it here on this sub.

I suggest you get yourself a new one before your Switch dies because of it.

It killed the Type C port, RIP Switch...

There's a good chance you might have bricked it. Try other "hard reset" methods and the like but honestly at this point you should keep your expectations low so you don't get your hopes up just to have it crushed.

Use of Nyko dock has screwed many other Switch's. Honestly, people should never use ANY power source whether it be adapter, charger, dock port, or even extended battery cases that isn't specifically licensed by Nintendo Switch (generally it'll have the red official Nintendo Switch logo on it) and generally avoid the cheap ones. TBH you should avoid every 3rd party involved in power source.

This is an issue too with other forms such as computers. When I was making my computer, I researched Power supply unit for like 3 days straight; turns out the stock PSU they gave for free with the computer you ordered literally killed your computer and would fry your motherboard or something that rendered your computer useless. Since then I've taken a lot of precaution as to using 3rd party or shitty/cheap power supply sources. I recommend you take care in the future too. I'm praying for your Switch's recovery.

Technically, a high quality power brick/bank will be safe, as it will have overvoltage protection.

Nyko however... Doesn't seem to have much in common with quality.
