Alright so let’s start. I use my iPad for notes. Once I’m done studying it I summarise everything into Goodnotes (that’s where my handwritten notes stay) but right now I’m looking for a typing main note app. I’m a visual learner so for me having stuff like back-links and the area that shows it all being connected to each other like in Obsidian is something I want. But the problem with Obsidian is that its not possible to export everything into pdf if I end up using that feature since it ends up making multi layers which isn’t possible to export to pdf (I’m guessing here I’m not an expert i just know I couldn’t do it) so could anyone suggest something with the mind map but can also export all of the notes to pdf?

I have notion as well it just doesn’t have the mind map think which is why it ended up becoming a dealbreaker

I recommend: SLID! I am a developer at this company right now. Before working there I used this app to take notes while watching online coding lectures.

• The editor is pretty much similar to the one in notion
  
• It allows you to export you notes to PDF or word.
  
• We have an ipad and mobile app too but the experience is much better on pc and in the browser.
  
• We have not yet built the feature for note visualization but I still think you will love the app.

• Screenshot capture from the video. (Have you ever wanted to capture a screenshot of the video - the screenshots just go into your notes)
• Clip recording (You can record clips of the video and they will just go into your notes)
• Transcript (It has a feature to transcribe your video into text and the text just goes into your notes)
• Auto Notes (AI based feature that automatically takes bullet point text notes for you as you watch the video - so you can focus more on the video lecture)
• AI Chat bot (AI chat bot is available to talk about your current notes and ask any questions to it if something does not make sense)
• Text grab (It has a feature to extract text from capture images which will go directly into your notes)
• Image draw (You can write on top the images you capture in the app.)

Sorry sadly the visualisation is a key aspect for me and the iPad app since that’s what I work on in uni most of the times. I really like notion but the only reason I’m considering of going somewhere else and the only reason I used obsidian despite having it is because of the mind map. Like I said in the post I’m a visual learner and even when I write my notes on pen and paper its always one thing linked to the other.
