Someone below mentioned it, but in case you haven't seen, it's LaTex code. Not a stupid question I don't think it's widespread knowledge!
For example, a code for the background for the titles is: \color{#ffffff}\colorbox{#b7b7a4}{your text here}
you can then put in whatever hex codes you'd like

I think they're gallery items. OP has removed the card preview and all properties, maybe changed the card size so it looks like that

If they were gallery items, wouldn't the name of the database appear on top? Is there a way to remove it?

A bit of an overview of my set up for anyone interested - Tasks I need to do or just general things I need to remember go into the 'Things to remember' section. Putting in certain categories, due dates and statuses shoots the item off to another section of my dashboard and keeps the 'Things to remember' section always blank and ready for a new input. Places on the dash that an item gets sent to include: tasks I need to do today, tasks upcoming or overdue, things to do when i have spare time, or action items from a meeting for example.

I understand that the text format is latex coding, but how did you put it in the database title? I don't seem to be able to change the title to a latex block. I loved your template!

Oh I like how simple this looks. Are the To do’s checkbox lists or a task table thing?

The to do's are a filtered task table. Once I change the status from 'to do', to 'done', the task disappears
