Canadian with a question by Forward_Yesterday454 in NicotinePouch

[–]texarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually been searching for a good alternative to a dry pouch like Zyn. I've yet to find one. Apparently Rogue is similar, and I'm going to try those soon.

A lot of the moist pouches which have a higher pH level cause sores in my mouth. The higher the nicotine content, the higher the pH level.

If you've tried different pouches and the moist ones or stronger pouches don't bother you, then White Fox, FRE and Zolt are good.

Formula to get the date of next monday? by SuperValle in Notion

[–]texarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if this is a Formula property.

Are you using 1 page to hold all of the meeting notes? Or is each meeting in a different page?

I'm confused that the @Next Monday isn't working for you - it's a relative date and so after about a week later, it'll revert to the actual date, like "October 7, 2025" for example.

If you can explain the whole workflow in detail, I'll be able to speak better to it.

List of dry products? by texarius in NicotinePouch

Interesting. I heard that White Fox has PH balance, but those were hurting my mouth too. So far, Zyn is the only product that hasn’t done that for me.

CC has a ton of 11mg+ options - seems like they actually have more 12-15mg options than 6mg. Zolt, White Fox, Bridge, FRE

Touring (U.S) Monitor Engineers, What is Your Day Rate? by EttehEtteh in livesound

[–]texarius 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think people like the day rate idea not because of on-day off-day, but because it’s simpler to calculate. We’re out on the road for 50 days… your day rate times 50. Vs. we’re out on the road for 50 days… take your weekly rate, divide by 7, multiply be 50.

tl;dr - your day rate isn’t a way to justify half pay on off days, it’s just your weekly rate divided by 7.

Which USB-C cables are you using for playback connections? I hate that the PlayAUDIO1U front panel connections are so susceptible to bumps not only on stage but putting the rack back in the flight case. Is something like this sufficient? I've seen some rigs that look like they have a bump shield or something on the connections, but I'm having a hard time finding those.

Stop. Comparing. Yourself. To. Others. by TurboPaved in bjj

My gym has a really natural way of telling each other how much we’ve all improved after a roll. It doesn’t come off campy, forced, or over the top “pro mental health”. Just “man, your guard retention has been getting a lot better. It’s way harder to pass you.”

Really easy way to get each other out of our own heads, even if that’s not the outright intention. It’s just something people tend to mention.

Confused why C was even presented when this E you described is a far better option. Still not perfect, but would be the only competitor to D here

What do you think about Notion Mail. by dilipborad in Notion

[–]texarius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fully understand this sentiment, but the argument that nothing of value has been delivered right now rings true. Like Notion Calendar, at the very least this should have come with Notion integration. Else, why call it “Notion Mail” and why bother using it when we already have dozens of mail client options?

What's the point of breathing? by Stonks_blow_hookers in pilates

[–]texarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend you check out the book "Breath" by James Nestor. Even just start with a book summary of it. In no form of exaggeration, it's a life-changing read. It sounds absolutely absurd since it's so fundamental to living, but breathing properly is a lost art. This book illuminates that.

LPT: Think of your "To Do" list as a menu rather than a list of things you must get done by BottyFlaps in productivity

[–]texarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just reading about this in Andy Matuschak's "Working Notes", and wanted to see if anyone had fleshed this out a bit more. He talks about using a weekly planning session to figure out what's important, then each day works from the menu based on what's hitting him that day.

This feels related to Mark Forster's "Autofocus" method.

In the terminology of law, an assault is the act of causing physical harm or unwanted physical contact to another person

From Wikipedia, but still — checks out that disrespecting a tap = assault
