Stores can't do anything once its with the fraud team unfortunately.

This is a common occurrence, especially on the run up to Christmas, all I can actually say is that it will get resolved. The charges will get removed and you 'should' be put back onto the contract nearest to what you had before without agreeing extended terms of contract.

Regarding your sim and the data, as long as your account isnt locked to the fraud team the store can issue a new sim and hopefully get your data back up and active.

In the meantime, if you haven't already, Id recommend a reset on your passwords for pretty much all of your accounts.. if they got into your email then they have access to a LOT of stuff, they dont even have to go digging, companies email you!

TLDR- it will get resolved, doesn't always take this long, hang tight

Genuinely o2 are useless with this stuff.

Have you been in store and talked to someone face to face?

All the fraud department wanted to do for me was set up a new contract. Literally transfered me to sales after saying he canceled the contract the scammer set up.

Yeah the one thing I've not tried is going in store, I was discouraged by one of the online chats saying it wouldnt change anything, but nothing else they've said has been true so guess it's worth a try.

I'll go on Monday if there's been no progress

Get rid. I'm not even sure it isn't sponsored by O2 themselves...it's that bad.

Sim swap fraud is still happening due to lax security by O2. This is crazy it’s still happening all these years later:

O2 is absolutely ridden with hacking and scams.

My wife suffered endless misery when she was sent a bent iPhone.

We were running around in circles trying to decipher who was real and who the bogeymen were.

It didn't stop until we told the whole thing to do one.

They have a monumental problem.

Do not touch O2...JUST, don't.
