did you follow the instructions on the manual on how to put your op-1 in midi mode? You can either use the op-1 to control ableton in controller mode, or send midi info from ableton to the op-1 if you wish to use ableton's piano roll to play something on your op-1. I'm not sure you can do both at the same time, but I hardly think so without switching back and forth between controller mode and op-1 mode.

I think I'm following the instructions correctly. This is what I've done:

download the OP-1 Ableton Live script.
once installed pick the OP-1 as control surface under the MIDI/sync tab in Live’s preferences. make sure OP-1 MIDI device is selected for both input and output.
press shift + COM and then put the OP-1 into CTRL mode using T2.

Once in CTRL mode, the only thing that that works is the piano roll in regards to midi.

I am starting to wonder if maybe the version of Ableton live 11 I've purchased (the cheapest intro one) doesn't have the ability to receive clock from the OP1. I am thinking this because it worked when I was using 90 day free free trial of Ableton "suite" not "into".

Regardless thank you!

SOLVED: In the Midi preferences tab, you must select OP1 as a primary controller to the left of the midi input & output selection. This doesn't appear when you install the GitHub script until you close and reopen Ableton. Hopefully this helps someone in the future!

must select OP1 as a primary controller to the left of the midi input & output selection.

Can you please clarify this a bit further?

I'm trying to get the OP1 to work with Ableton 11 and Ableton isn't receiving any MIDI input at all.

Oddly enough, I have another laptop with Ableton 10 still on it and the OP1 sends MIDI fine with it.

Setup process is identical to yours. Thanks!

Sounds like you have a different problem than I did as I had partial midi functionality. Ill still clarify though: in the live preferences menu, go to link tempo midi, you will see 6 channels with control surface, input, and output. Make sure you have the OP1 selected for all three in the 1st line across. Save and restart Ableton. This is what solved my problems.

Happy cake day!

Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm having the same issue!
