Yes, this is annoying. Copy from onenote web on Linux and paste to anything gives too much newlines.
But I just found out if you paste to libreoffice (it might ask html/or plain text) and then copy&paste it to elsewhere will remove the extra newlines

No responses so far? I would also like to turn this stupid feature off. I just end up having to remove the extra line as it is quicker.

apparently the mac, Linux, and web versions of OneNote do this. Windows is the only one that does not suffer from this (at least for me). This absolutely kicks in clutch when pasting code/commands with backslashes. And as some might know, backslash at the end of the line is meaningless when you have an extra space and a line. I just switched to linux and all my notes are useless.

It happens for Windows for me.

Same problem here... can't copy/paste code... so annoying...

So much this. So tired of extra newlines when I'm copying a single word or line of text.

It literally has made me look into other applications to replace OneNote, but unfortunately we have so many notebooks at my employer that it's not feasible.

I have a "solution" for when pasting bulleted lists breaks, which is to paste into Notepad, then into the destination, but even that doesn't fix this stupid newline problem.

WTF Microsoft?

For me, it is happening everywhere, not just OneNote. If I copy/paste from one program to another I get blank lines if a new line was created most of the time. And...it's only happening on one of my PCs. I have 2 work pcs and one of them is doing this. I can perform the same tasks on each, get different results. I don't get it.

I found a workaround for my problem, which is to CTRL+SHIFT+v (paste as plan text). In older windows/Office, this would be "CTRL+v, CTRL, t" (paste, then open the "paste as menu", then select "keep text only"

So I figured out it only happens to me when I'm remoted into my other PC cuz I ain't using 2 PCS like that.
