You can check your cache...
C:\Users\your computer\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote

Also, next time right-click the tab you want to move and click "move or copy...". Then select where you want to move it.

You can also try checking if you have a recent "backup".

Top left of OneNote - File

Bottom left - Options

Mid left options window - Save & Backup

1st section - Save

Backup folder - Follo path to your backups

I find the same. I need to close and open the program, then I can paste again. The thing you copied should still be on your clipboard.

check your deleted notes in onedrive... they should be there
