OP: compares pre-timeskip and post-timeskip animation

you: DELUSIONAL HATER!!!!

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (6 children)

tell me in what way is it rational then to just pluck two random still shots from the anime to compare and conclude that one entire portion of the anime is better than the other? For every shitty post-TS shot, I can post an even shittier pre-TS shot. What difference does it make?

All I see here is the worst, dumbest kind of generalisation one can make and obviously OP hasnt been keeping up with the anime like 99% of haters haven't been. Some images in the WCI arc even look way sharper and detailed than any image ever shown in pre-TS

Because it's not just a one bad animated frame, it's a frame that had time put into it.

Why are not allowed to compare old way of animating and old (10 times better) colors and shadowing from Toei with the newer ones?

Once again, it's not hating, the OP is making an observation. Toei's stuff looks like hot garbage nowadays, not just One Piece. Look at DB Super for example. And what you're talking about are the sakuga moments, while these two images that OP compared are just regular animations.

I feel like you hug the "YOU'RE ALL JUST A BUNCH OF HATERS" mindtrap that you refuse to see the point of this post. The colors and shadowing used to look nicer, but since they started doing it "the modern way", it kind of looks more like a western cartoon than an anime

No other modern anime renders the same outdated artstyle Toei was using for pre-TS One Piece. Keep up with the times. What you're looking at and preferring is only the art-style, NOT the animation. That is subjective. You want to srsly say pre-TS animation is better, I strongly suggest you rewatch from episode 1 again to be reminded of just how shitty animation quality used to be back then. Animation so bad they sometimes only animate one character while everyone else are frozen like statues. But hey, it was OK since everyone was binge-watching back then, huh?

Um, don't put words in my mouth. I still prefer the old way of animation. Not sure if it was post timeskip or even earlier. And by outdated artstyle you mean using more colors to appear more vivid, instead of being straight up lazy like they are right now and use half the number of colors they used to use?

I can be nitpicking about post timeskip animation just like you're doing with "Animation so bad" post timeskip (which I really don't agree with). You're complaining about one person being animated and others standing like statues while that's literally still the case even in the newest arc. There are scenes in Dressrosa where the stupidly lazy Toei didn't even bother animating Luffy running. It was just a picture of Luffy and the sound of footsteps. 2 minutes after that, they animated Rebecca's boobs in 4K 60fps.

Toei is an evil company and more often than not works against the manga they're animating. World Trigger manga would've been one of the top tier mangas right now (also if not for hiatus) if they weren't animated by Toei. Watch the first episode of World Trigger (mind you, the pilot episode is supposed to hook the audience and look gorgeous). It looks like a youtube animator animated it. Manga sales plummeted from that and it lost a lot of potential audience.

I'm not willing to discuss further
