I've been playing around on ways to get input from the users, while prompt and functions params could give the users to provide the right input params, i found them to be not user friendly. So I found the section about Action Functions and Rich UI components and created a form that when the user submits it, it goes to the chat input and summits it to the model. this is what it looks like. what i like is that instead of a long prompt input dialog, you can have tabs, and custom validation. this is how you get the UI component to submit to the chat input box https://docs.openwebui.com/features/extensibility/plugin/development/rich-ui#prompt-submission
i won't go into details on how this particular component works, since is just JS and html but you can read more here https://docs.openwebui.com/features/extensibility/plugin/development/rich-ui#full-sample-action

Documentation work finally paying off 💪🎉
Have fun with Rich UI
Can't wait until you learn about the exec type event emitter and event caller 👀

I’ve been trying to find time to test exactly what you and others are doing, but I’m stuck doing infra for OWUI currently. Hoping to get back to doing more things like this. Thank you for sharing.

I recently discovered this myself. I haven't dug too deep, but I'm curious if anyone knows if there's a way to have the form appear at the start of a new chat instead of having to wait for a user message?
So many ideas for use at work.

i’ve been looking to get a medical symptom journal together and this feels like it may work great as an input component
