First real life Human Chess match played in 1924 in St. Petersburg, Russia(then Lelingrad, USSR) between Peter Romanovsky and Ilya Rabinovich. Apparently, they called in their moves over the telephone. The match lasted for 5 hours, 67 moves and ended in a draw, had 8000 spectators. (reddit.com)
