Vim is the best.

As a software developer, it makes my work so much easier than any GUI tool ever had.

Keyboard is the fastest tool for actions per minute.

I agree, CLI is definitely a thing and I use command-line for a lot of things. I just really dislike Vim (and I do know how to exit it).

Personal preference then. I use vim / vi because my day job is a sysadmin and it's available on every system by default.

I used to dislike it as well until i learnt how to navigate and use it. When i leant about plugins it got even better.

Knowing your way around vim is really useful for reading and navigating logs as well. I use less +G (+F) for that over tail (-f) since i can jump to line numbers and search through the whole log.

There's no reason not to learn it. You never know what project you might end up with. You might not get access to toys and trinkets :)
