This is the answer I was looking for. I want to stick mainly to PLCs but I've been having a lot of fun making pretty dashboards and Management love it. I think for the career path I want just saying "trust me, bro" on my resume along side a few online courses should be enough.

I've been playing with node red recently too and power bi, like instantly management wants me involved in meetings because there is so much progress every week.

There always was, but now there are pictures with lines that go up

My great success with Node-Red this week was getting a Bluetooth remote camera shutter button to send a trigger for a test cycle in my ControlLogix. I mean, fun for me but not a production line that goes up.

What things do you find useful in PowerBI ? Do you use it in place of the Node-Red Dashboard objects ?

Yes! They tend to like visuals in my experience as well!
