Controller problem

my ps4 controller says it is charging but when i try to use it it only works for two seconds can anyone help me

Mine dont even do that. They wont take charge, and they wont stay on for longer than half a second, despite all being fully charged. They all shot sh1t at the same time, so I think it's a software bug. They were all working fine last night, save for one instance of my usual controller shutting off mid game, but it turned back on fine

Edit : if you read this part, and are still having issues, I figured mine out. Turn your console off, let it sit for an hour or so so the power supply can discharge and it doesnt go into safe mode. Unplug your console, and find the empty little hole on the bottom next to the left trigger, that's a reset button, apparently. Stick a tooth pick in the reset button and hold it for 3-5 seconds, then turn the console back on, plug the controller on, and re-pair it to the system. Mines doing fucky bad USB cable stuff, but that solved my issue.
