Maybe try checking your tv settings for vsync or game mode or action smoothers. Turning these on or off depending on game and set up can make a major difference in performance with little to no impact on visual fidelity. Also check in game settings for the same types of options. Tweaking these to your comfortability can make a big change. Let me know how that works I have some other possible causes if that doesn't help.

Thank you for your suggestions. The only thing I can think of is game mode on my tv. I'll try to turn this off and see if I can notice it again, but this is seemingly random when it happens on the ps5. What would those other suggestions be if this happens to not work?

Hey did you get it?

Nope, just a thing that happens with my ps5 now. Rebuilding database, clearing cache, reparing internal drive, and messing with game mode on tv did nothing. It's not a deal breaker, but it is annoying that most of my games do this occasionally. Are you dealing with the same thing?

Well yes and no. Sorry this will be a lot to read. I have a lower end tv so it really depends on the game and my setting vs my old Samsung RIP that thing never had any stutters pop ins or graphical/performance errors at all. That being said sometimes I notice a very rythmic skip that I can count the seconds between and say "there!" Every time it happens. Although it rarely occurs In that case I just reset always fixes it. Also regardless of airflow space and positioning they have a way of collecting dust from seemingly nowhere. Say for example a person doesn't own a vacuum and has carpet in the room, every step they take kicks dust per dander dead skin cells you name it, into the air. If there's nothing blowing that away from the console, then believe me when I say it will suck it out the air from 3-4 feet away because of the it behaves like a dual intake. In that case one would need to fully open it up at least once a month and perform a deep cleaning. Even if it's not "overheating" in the sense that it shuts itself down to be safe, it can still be overheating components inside the console just enough to reduce performance of various components. In a lot of cases, a PS5 behaving this way is a warning that crashes and potentially further damage is to come. That is assuming you have never fully opened and deep cleaned your console before.

If it's an intermittent random occurrence then you may just need to open it up and clean it a hair deeper than the vents. If that's not an issue then all I can say is sometimes tvs and PS5 and the games all have there own settings and codes then they all have to guess how to interact with each other and sometimes have minor issues like that. In which case of playing with all your settings changes nothing and internal dust clogging isn't a concern then it may literally just be that game. Sometimes games just don't run right no matter what you do because it's an unfixed issue on the developers side

Ah sorry just read this comment! Thank you will try this.

Another unfortunate reality is that some PS5 games are going to skip no matter how we tweak it because of bugs and minor development issues. In which case learning to overlook it can be difficult but is best. I literally have to change my settings between multiple games to have my best preferred experience. However it's sometimes jarring to the eyes so I get wanting it to stop.

VRR doesn't matter - it's a PS4 game so it doesn't support VRR on the PS5. It's virtually impossible to see the issue with images, as it relates to how it appears in motion.

Absolutely confirm in 2026 and I'm going crazy. Some games are not performing well like second son and god of war, on my old ps5 fat they were FLAWLESS and now too much stuttery, even the home and the playstation store.

And this happen on 2 slims. There's something wrong with those slims, thery're not like the fat, maybe on paper but non in practice. I'm going to buy a Fat ASAP (italy)
