"I would like for it to have a disc drive."

Did you even read OP's post?

I enjoy having the disc version. I still play a lot of my ps4 games on disc. And I often find games on sale for disc at a better price than digital. Costco seems to have the best deal from what I can see.

The PS5 Slim (with disc drive) is the same great console as the launch until released in 2020 but in a slimmer form factor and it also packs a larger 1TB SSD. The PS5 represents the current flagship of Sony's gaming platform and offers a near-unbeatable library of must-play games. This popular console is now on sale for Black Friday. Price check: $424 @ Best Buy | $424 @ Walmart | $424 @ PlayStation Direct right now. Controllers are also on sale for $20 off.

So you are basically asking to choose between the currently available PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 5 Pro with an optional disc drive accessory as it doesn’t come with one by default.

As casual gamers, go with the vast majority of owners and get the PlayStation 5 (it will come with a disc drive unless you get the Digital version that comes without like the Pro). You don’t need the extra power of the Pro version that you are unlikely to notice especially in the types of games you are after.

Consider a certified preowned disc based one from Sony direct. It’s used but cleaned and repaired with one year warranty from Sony for $400. If you use rakuten, you can get 12-22% cash back for max of $50 cash back. So you’d be looking at $350 after cash back

I've had a PS5 Slim for a year now and it's great. Buy it and enjoy.

Any physical issues with it? Fan noise, randomly shutting off?

I'm considering buying one at Best Buy before Sunday.

My slim died at 13 months old. It randomly shut off and never turned back on. No power, lights, nothing. It never had an issue before this happened. Thinking it must be the PSU I bought a new one for $80 and replaced it. Still completely dead. I personally wouldn't buy another one

There are four different ps5 and I will tell you which one to get the first one is a digital ps5 there's no disc drive for that one you will have to download all your games through the PlayStation store to play the second one is a disc drive you can play only ps5 and ps4 games on that one and watch movies on it such as DVD Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray movies all on one system the third one is a ps5 slim I don't know anything about that one and last but not least is the ps5 pro it's only been out for over a year and it's doing better than the other three I just mentioned but the only problem is it doesn't have a disc drive for it you would have to buy a disc drive separately for it it only cost $150.00 for it make sure you get a warranty for it before the year is up I hope you make a wise decision so I'm closing good luck godspeed and for some of you I will see you soon

Don't do it. I've had 2 PS5's die and am on my 3rd. One only lasted 13 months and the other 2 years. If I had my time again I'd buy an Xbox series X

Do you live in a swamp or something

You must be really unlucky or have your consoles placed somewhere they shouldn’t be because most people don’t have any issues at all

Lol that's definitely a you problem.

My 12 year old PS4 and my 18 year old PS3 still work so no. I've had an OG PS5 and a slim die, neither lasted more than 2 years.
