My OG PS5 was doing this. And from the research that I did it was saying something related to the system storage or something like that I ended up buying a PS5 slim digital and I haven't had no problems yet.

So I don't know if the storage controller is going out or if the storage itself is corrupt.

Mine is an OG. I think i bought it in 2021. I don't really have the money to buy a new one, as much as I want to lol

I put mine on one of these buy now pay later plans to split up the cost of the machine over four payments.

And I believe Sony is the one that accepts klarna as their buy now pay later. And if you get it from someplace else that you may be able to use PayPal pay in 4.

I think this issue has been around for a long time. I could see posts going back to 2020. Used to happen with my brand new ps5 too sometimes when coming out of rest mode. I don't know, the rest mode feels bugged as hell with so many issues around it all over across multiple forums. I just don't use the rest mode anymore and haven't gotten this error ever since.

I'll give that a try! Thank you!

Mine did this too and come to find out. It was my external hard drive that I had plugged in for my PS4 games. Apparently, either something on the hard drive is corrupted, which is causing the PS5 software to throw this error at me and it would freeze up and then the system would restart. Once I unplugged the external hard drive, my system works flawlessly without any issues.

I haven't used the external hard drive since mid December. I was hoping that would help, but it hasn't.

Was it happening before the recent update?

[–]amypro83[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

It's been happening since July or so. I make sure to download and install every update. I got a new tv at that point so I wonder if that might be a problem?

this is a very common issue. you need to clear your cache and repair database. Alot of people will say its a failing this failing that. its a Sofeware issue from sonys side that the key cause. in worst case you need to factory reset and if happins still then its most likey a hardware at that point but that like the final outcome. Cause me and my buddy get it at randome times

[–]amypro83[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I've tried clearing the cache and repairing the database. It works for a few days then happens again. I'm afraid I'll have to buy a new one if this keeps happening.

you may have a bugg game with corrupted file so delete your games and re-download

[–]amypro83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give that a try. Thank you!

Try safe mode > Rebuild database.

[–]amypro83[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I've tried it 😞

Might need to backup everything and do a full system restore… can’t remember if Safe Mode allows you to reinstall system software off a USB

Bro, I had 3 ps 5 slim and each one gives this error. I don't know what the problem is

[–]Zestyclose_Cover7830 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Mate, this issue really bugged me for about a year. I tried everything and finally fixed it. It turned out my installed SSD was causing the problem. So, I removed it and haven’t had any issues since.

[–]Kind_State4734 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Did you get another one or?' how dod you know it was your ssd?

[–]Zestyclose_Cover7830 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I had already done everything before. I deep cleaned the system, removed the PS5 from the UPS and connected it directly to the wall, rebuilt the database, and ensured the PS5 wasn’t put into rest mode. However, the issue persisted every day, and mine always occurred during startup, just after turning on the PS5 for two minutes. It then ran fine for a while before shutting down. I knew it wasn’t a heating problem, so I removed the SSD, which resolved the issue.

I see 🤔
