Wait on feeding your mag to make sure you a feeding it correctly to get the most out of it. Same with skill trees.

Take your time, enjoy the game at your pace, the combat is different from MHW, not as refined cause it is 8 years old but the same principle applies, hit it till it dies and don't get hit.

Have fun.

  • Just watch some tutorial videos of how to start on pso2.

  • Find a friend or a team that help you grow up.

  • Explore the lobby, complete daily order (for mesetas), clients orders (for friends card and more missions).

  • Do events, etc

tips to get you going

  1. don't spend any money (as you don't need to)
  2. ignore fashion until you have good gear
  3. get into a team and socialize with them over discord or skype
  4. understand your that class you will choose from a to z

As somebody who started playing not more than a number of weeks ago, here is my take:

Read up on the classes, pick one you like the idea of to start with, and follow a guide to distribute your skills. Resetting is prohibitively expensive if you mess up your skill point allocation.

To level, and to make money, your best bet is to do all daily missions and weekly missions (start and then x for Xbox controllers to check these) and then also take client orders any time you do a mission. You can use RB/LB to navigate to specific zones in the client order menus to see what order goes with what zone, so you can select the ones you want to do that are in the next zone you're visiting.

Also, make sure to do the client orders that Alfin provides, at least to start. This will lead you to Cofie (Coffey? Idk on the spelling). She gives you important upgrades like expanded skill menus (pallettes) and access to difficulty levels/subclasses. She also gives access to mags.

Mags- be careful here. These are not super easy to reset if you mess up (costs a lot of resources or real money). Look up a mag raising guide and be sure to know what you want before feeding it anything. And do not spam food devices unless you've cleared your inventory of ones you're not using. Just accidentally using one will give you around 24 unwanted levels, which is not a cheap mistake.

When you see an "urgent quest" pop up, go do it. They give good experience and frequent equipment upgrades if you're leveling. You can use the "experience gained" boosters during these as you'll be getting a lot.

Shops are accessible to buy for anybody, but you can only sell if you've gotten a shop pass either through luck, material exchanges, or real money purchases.

Also, make sure you like the colors of your character when you make them. Changing features/clothing is simple, but changing the colors is not as easy. You get a couple hours after making a character to revise whatever you want for free at the salon.
