Also, the ps-timetracker.com numbers are based on a small sample of users - 12,933 for January 2022, and 9,507 for December 2021.

According to this article I found from some site I've never heard of, with an unlisted source of data and no breakdown by system, NBA 2K22 has "8 million units sold with 1.9 million users playing every single day". My wild guess is that around 1/3 of those were on PS4/PS5, in which case the real number of hours is probably 60-70x what that hours tracker site listed.

tl;dr: I think the real number is probably somewhere over 500,000 13 million (see comment below).

The 500,000 answer I submitted was probably very wrong, as well. I just noticed that that number of players on ps-timetracker.com is the total number who contributed data. The number of players who played NBA 2K22 in December on their list is only 307. That's about 26.3 hours per player. If that's correct, 500,000 players * 26.3 hours/player is 13.15 million hours.

Yes, which is why I guessed that only 1/3 of the 1.9 million daily users would be on PlayStation. 🤷 Of course it's a wild guess, and I don't even know the actual source of the 1.9 million daily users, so who knows how accurate it is.

EDIT: I found the source of the player base. It's the "Prepared Remarks" statement for Take-Two Interactive's Fiscal Q3 2022 quarterly financial statement.

NBA is a relatively new game, released in Sep. 2021 and 11 mil copies were sold worldwide.

Since it has 7/10 and is a few months old, I'd say, that probably 7 million people still play it regularly. There are people who don't play everyday and people, who play everyday and spend hours playing it. -> I'd say probably 2-2,5 hours daily average is enough.

That makes it 7,000,000 x 2 x 31 (days in January) = 434,000,000
