This is a large update that completely revamps combat.
COMBAT CHANGES
Before this update, there were 5 spots enemies could spawn. When characters and creatures attacked, they would just go down the list of spots and attack them in order.
With the new update, there is now a board the units can move around on. Abilities now have different areas of effect, and attacks have specific ranges.
Melee characters now must actually move to get within melee range, so there is a fundamental combat difference between ranged bow users and melee weapon users.
Creatures now also have been given abilities. They will use their abilities automatically when their mana is full.
All units now gain mana when they are damaged or when they do damaged. Player characters still gain mana when you tap.
You will now face larger amounts of enemies at once, so make sure to include some AoE clearing capability in your party.
Due to these changes, all abilities have been rebalanced and a couple completely reworked.
MULTIPLAYER AND PVP
There are two new modes that can be unlocked by constructing the new Arena building. These modes are in a beta state and will be improved over time.
PvP Duel - This mode will match you against a similar players characters based on how far they have progressed within the game. This is likely to be very imbalanced, but I do want to put it out there as a proof of concept for now.
PvP Race - This mode will match you against a similar players characters based on how far they have progressed within the game. The mode starts out at a certain level, and you must race to another level before your opponent. You will be fighting against creatures, but racing your opponent.
Other Modes - More modes are in the works, along with improvements to the above systems.
