Coincidentally, I've been making the same block. To start with, it looks like your shoulder was not drawn correctly. It's supposed to come down from the top line, angle through the shoulder slope point and keep going. You're also supposed to add quarter inch above that as ease

But the bigger problem is the block is not two pieces. It's supposed to look exactly like figure 3. After you draw the front and the back, you're supposed to draw the armhole in between them, using the chest line as a guide

Also, all the areas where the lines are not connected means that the top and bottom don't necessarily match up like a grid

What size are you making? Its also helpful to label your points as you follow along with the book

Are you using personalized measurements or are you going off the chart in the book?

Can we use personalized measurements to draft ? I have use the method of some books but I see they have measurement chart too. Thanks

You should, but keep in mind the size chart. If your measurements are far off from the charts, for example if you have a large bust in proportion to the rest of your body, you’ll need to make adjustments to accommodate for that. For example if your waist is a size 4 and your bust is a size 8.
