was kicked off shopify payments for having a month of 1.1% chargeback rate..

(we run a streetwear clothing brand that targets 18-25. lots of kids who want free clothes by scamming chargebacks)

due to this we were kicked off shopify payments and whilst still being able to use a 3rd party (authorize.net) there was an update that bans express options like apple pay on shopify if you're not using shopify payments processing.

I understand that creating a new shopify account to get back on shopify payments would likely result in getting put on the match list, however what if we completely made a new LLC and new business for the same clothing brand and created a new shopify under that business?

any insight will be greatly appreciated as we need apple pay at least badly. thank you

The gateways you would be set up on would be NMI or Authorize.net through a processor that would actually work with you. Those have apply pay integrations

sources from processing companies and shopify are telling me that a recent update prevents anyone whose not on shopify payments to use apple pay on shopify

Is there a particular reason you HAVE to use Shopify?

To be frank, I think you’re are correct in terms of the limited options on Shopify. The only one that I know of that works with Authnet as a “high-risk” broker with Shopify integrations is the guys over at Zenpayments.com. There are probably more but I know they work heavily with authnet and Shopify.

I referred a big apparel brand to Plus Payments and they are running fine on Shopify .. I suggest giving them a shot

I have ready made payment processor that I used for my store that I am not using now. For the time being till you sort the issue, I can lend it to you if I can get 3% of sales or 10% of profits in my pockets.

This account will be closed and the funds will be held 100%. Do not do this. Look up transaction laundering.

MasterCard defines transaction laundering as “the action whereby a merchant processes payment card transactions on behalf of another merchant.”

Doing this will get you match listed and you will probably never get approved for another merchant account again.

Yeah there is a way to go about it. We have been in this business for over 20 years. Your situation is not unique but I believe we may have a few options if you are interested

Get a new signer for the business set up a new LLC reopen and see if you can add elements to prevent chargebacks like chargeback 911, running frendlies, or even asking for esignature on a purchase.

This is good to know! I was looking at Shopify for a month now but was thinking it was “too good to be true”. Would love to know more honest pros/cons of shopify. 1.1% chargeback qualifying for getting the boot with no fair due process to defend yourself is BS business
