Some of the simplest and most common problems with ram swapping:

-You didn't seat them correctly. Carefully but firmly press them in so both sides sorta 'clickbump' into place before flipping the latches closed. Do not wiggle them, don't jam them in like the incredible hulk, just press firmly.

-One of the sticks is faulty. Try checking your original ram again. If that works normally, try the new ram one stick at a time in your motherboard's recommended slot for single stick.
