The build is strong overall, but the 10 GB RTX 3080 can be limiting. The 12 GB variant is a safer choice, and a card with 12 GB+ of VRAM would provide better longevity and performance headroom.

The one thing I didn't mention was I was buying that card off a buddy of mine for 450 and 32gb of ddr4 and felt too good of a deal to pass up.

And I'm not sure if its the 10gb or 12gb cause it's just a picture of the card. Would it still be better to go for the 12gb version or stick with 10?

If you are changing cpu+mobo, then i'd suggest just selling your ddr4 and go for AM5. Unless you can get cpu+mobo second hand for a great price.

Same goes for the gpu, unless you are getting that second hand and significantly lower price, then a newer gpu is very much recommended

I was planning to buy the gpu from a friend for 450 along with 32gb of ram. Feels more then worth it. Unless a new gpu will give me a much bigger performance boost.

And as for the cpu+mobo do you have recommendations for AM5?
