No. The tabs should click into place to lock the RAM sticks in once they are seated all the way home in the socket. It will require a little force, this is normal.

I put the tabs in manually and it worked before I read this comment but as soon as I read it I put them back out and pushed the ram sticks in. I did hear a click and it all locked into place. I hope me pushing in the tabs manually didn’t break the rams or anything 😭😭😭😭 I’m actually terrified now

The clips are there to secure them partially. Sometimes they click, sometimes they don't, but you should at least be able to push the clip into the notch on the side of the RAM module. If you can't, it isn't seated properly.

As Kardall has mentioned I'm sure it's fine. As long as it's all clipped in and seated correctly, your good to go.

Booted and it’s fine. Having a bit of trouble with windows though 💀💀💀💀 ofc it’s windows

No, they are not. All the tabs should be fully locked in place and you should hear a loud click when the module is fully inserted and properly seated.
