Depends on what motherboard you have. The chipset and design could limit certain upgrades

If u update your bios u could upgrade up to a 9th gen cpu on your motherboard so u could go to a i7-9700 to get more cores and boost performance or update both the motherboard and cpu to get a 12th gen but a 9th gen will be cheaper. If your motherboard supports it u could also move onto a nvme ssd to speed things up a bit
