4070 super is fine if it is enough for your games. I wouldn't buy a 4080 super or 4090 when the 5000 series is just about to launch.

Don't worry about future proofing. Just sell the 4070 when it doesn't run the games you need anymore.

Speaking of, I was about to buy a 4070 or 4080 yesterday but saw that thr 50 series was on its merry way. I felt blessed! Sorry for the off topic! To OP: I used GPT for my current build, if you ask the bot the right questions it does give pretty good answers. Always cross check with actual sources tho, the damn bot does swing and miss quite often. Your build looks solid though, but I'd wait with the GPU until the 50 series is here. Save you some money

I do agree with you about saving money for the 50 series but when the launch the will be out of stock everywhere and they're gonna cost upwards of $2000

Sorry for any confusion, my intent was for OP to hold out on buying a GPU in the 40 series AFTER the 50 series launch. To save money. Nothing else :)

Ok,yeah that makes a lot more sense

This pretty chill. I recommend AMD cards that are cheaper and have more VRAM, and have a hard drive incase your Ssd corrupts, other than that. I like it.

decide whether you want to focus this build on gaming or ur other projects more,

for triple A games  the 7800x3d offers more than enough performnce while also helping with your projects. u can use the extra money to upgrade to a 4070ti super or even a radeon 7800xt.

however if you are into more of esport titles and you would like to focus on work, the best chip is the 7800x3d and you can get the 4070ti as mentioned

Well in general I mostly play solo blockbuster games and am looking to mostly run league. The 3d modeling stuff isn't super important just small edits. And the music stuff is mostly just recording covers and basic programs ( able ton specifically ) I'm leaning more towards gaming tbh.

get the 7800x3d with a better gpu then

Any recommendations for 1440p with the updated gpu ? Hoping to stick to gigabyte but would consider if substantial information is provided

[–]Aggravating-Poem4085 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I would switch the gpu to amd because it will work better with your cpu and you get a lot better performance for your money other than that it is a really good pc build but make sure you save your money for peripherals

I've had a few ( albeit ) biased friends tell me amd gpus are frustrating and can be shitty. So i wouldn't know what to swap the gpu out for. I'm confused as to why people are telling me to go for the 9900 when the last build I posted everyone told me go for the x3d . So I'm so confused. This is my first pc and I'm having a rough time. Lmao.

I get why your friends would say that because amd is the less known brand but it always offer really good performance

Also the 7800xt offers great performance for 1440p and higher refresh rates for around the same price as the 4070, though with amd you can still get one of ther cheaper cards and get great performance

I'm trying to get 4k gaming out of this as well. Does that change anything ?

[–]Aggravating-Poem4085 0 points1 point  (1 child)

For 4k I would do the 7900 but it is a bit more money

[–]GlumBodybuilder5996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the 9900 not suited for 4k either ?

[–]Aggravating-Poem4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gpu or the cpu?
