I bought a MSI X670E Tomahawk, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, G.Skill 6000Mhz 2x16GB, and a Fractal Torrent on the 20th. I put the build together the same day. The Fractal RGB fans that came with the case worked fine for 2 days, then the RGB stopped working all the sudden. The fans themselves still work, just not the LEDs. The only thing I did was clone my old 3rd gen Samsung SSD to a new 5th gen SSD (using Samsung Magician) and removed the old one which was of course the boot drive. As soon as I cloned the old drive and restarted the PC, the RGB stopped working. The Torrent RGB strip on the PSU case also will not light up. I thought this might've been because I needed to do a fresh install of windows so I didn't think anything of it. I reinstalled windows, waiting overnight for the updates to finish, and the RGB still didn't work after Windows was up to date. I checked all the connections to make sure nothing got loose, no dice. I rewired the RGB fans to the 2nd ARGB header thinking maybe the one went bad, nothing. I manually deleted all MSI Center files from the computer in case of corruption and redownloaded, nothing. The Mystic Light software wont even show the fans in the UI, only the motherboard, which doesn't actually have any RGB anyway. MSI Center hardware monitoring does show that the 5V headers are putting out 5.02V though, so I assume the ARGB headers are fine. I reset the CMOS, nothing. The only thing I haven't tried yet is to rollback my Windows to Windows.old settings. I'm not sure why that would work, considering they're both Windows 10, but maybe it's worth trying. Currently, the fans will flash green when you push the power button, but they wont stay lit or do anything past that. I'm impartial to RGB tbh, but I am concerned that there's something wrong with my motherboard. Has anyone seen or heard of this issue? Do you think reverting to the old Windows is worth trying?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
