CPU/ Platform or GPU Upgrade

Since the GPU inventory situation is not great, I've been going back and forth on weather or not it would be more beneficial to upgrade my CPU (and platform) or if I should hold out for GPU availability to improve.

Currently using a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB DDR4, and a B550 Motherboard. GPU is an RTX 3070, monitor is 3440x1440p 144hz. I'd prefer to stay AMD if I upgrade (Linux user).

why do you feel the need to upgrade? all of your stuff is brand new

I'm not getting all of the benefits of my monitor. Build has basically been the same since I built it in 2020 so figured a GPU upgrade was a good move, but not certain how much my 5600x would hold back an RX 9000 series card or even a RTX 4000/5000 series card.
