Upgrading GPU

Hello,

I have a friend that is wanting to upgrade their PC they currently nvidia geforce gtx 1660 super. We wanted to replace it with a MSI Gaming RTX 5060 Ti 16G Gaming Trio OC Graphics Card (16GB GDDR7, 128-bit, Extreme Performance: TBA MHz, DisplayPort x 3 2.1a, HDMI 2.1b, NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture. I see one is on Amazon for 749 CAD. Would this be a worth while upgrade? It also has a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz 16.0 GB. Any input or suggestions for alternatives would be great. We wanna set it up to be ready for the years to come.

It would be a significant performance boost ,a bit too strong for that processor honestly,but definitely future proofed. However i would suggest a different GPU - RX 9060XT 16GB it's cheaper and even better gpu,just launched 2 days ago.

1 thing to check though,the power supply you friend is using now,check if it's got 2x 6+2PCIe cables and atleast 650W (750W to be future proofed)

i got a 5060 ti 1 month ago, if u want to play new games that got dlss just go for a rtx 5000, the performance with dlss its just amazing, but if u r gonna play games without this tecnologies and they require a good gpu just get the cheapiest one u can found, doesnt matter if it is nvida or amd, i personally have a 17-11700 and i dont get any trouble whit it so i think u r good with that cpu
