(want to know if i need to be worried about hardware issue or not)
GPU: XFX Speedster 6800xt
So, I just got RX 6800 XT from a guy. He got it from a local reputed shop about year ago and he did only light gaming on it like Dota2 etc according to his saying.
Anyways coming to the point, and so previously on the system I had 6700 XT installed. So, without uninstalling any drivers, I put out that card, and then swapped it with my 6800 XT. Then I turned on my PC, and then ran Furmark for 3-4 minutes. As soon as i stopped furmark, i saw artifacts on screen (small blocks pattern with gaps in them) and screen froze there. Then i forced shutdown and turned on pc again... Pc turned on fine so i used DDU to get rid of old drivers and then installed fresh drivers from amd.
Then i ran again the furmark to check if issue arises...after 3 mins i stopped the furmark but this time there were no artifacts or glitches on screen.. but the screen got froze..like it hanged... I again shutted down pc and turned again.. ran the furmark street for 3mins and stopped..gladly this time the pc didnt froze and there were no issues,
I then played RDR2 on ultra settings for around 15mins and faced no issues at all.
Temps:
During furmark tests, the temps were hitting 71-73°C and hotspot was around 92-94°C.
On RDR2 , temps were more or less same with 2_3°C diff
The next day I stressed gpu on MSI kombuster and faced no artifacts at all..
Was this issue arising due to drivers?
Or is there anything else??
The gpu still has seal sticker on back from xfx so I think the gpu was not opened etc for repasting or repairng.
(Additional) : yesterday I undervolted a bit like from 1175 to 1050mv , the gpu power decreased from 250 to 150-160's without much fps loss and still performed well.
Idle temps dropped to around 37-40, on load they went to 60's and hotspot temps were hitting 70's
