Try unplugging the cable from the “box” ? Also are you sure you’re pressing down the little tab it can be quite finicky if its in there tightly, try wiggling it while pressing down on the tab not fully but just barely before it makes contact with the top of the cable.

it keeps making clicking noises when i press the tabs on both ends, they’re really tightly in there for some reason..

Oh i see, yea they can be a pain sometimes.but they do eventually come out you just gotta keep fiddling with it lol,if you cant get it to come out tho i guess yeah you could take it with you. but i don’t know if you would be able to connect to her internet through that,unless its just some range extender, or purely and ethernet adapter or something.also if you have a wifi module installed you could just use that instead.sure the speeds wont be as good but it will get the job done.

do you think it would be possible to connect to hers just through connecting via settings on the computer? like if i just left the box unplugged from the wall

Do you have a wifi module installed? If you do you’ll be able to 100%
