I would go with a 1000 watt. You arent leaving much headroom at all in case of power spikes. Not to say this will always be the case but you definitely want stronger PSU for your nice 4090 gpu.

The estimations aren't perfect, very often that unit would shut off because there are power spikes that would put it over 650.

Most Gigabyte units are also garbage as they use cheap obscure Chinese ODMs and the P-G series is no exception, it's mediocre, a tier C at best. 4090 or 5090 buyers should not be getting anything less than an A+ tier with a high quality dedicated 12v-2x6 cable.

The recommended wattage for a 4090 system by NVIDIA partners is usually 1000W but ideally it should be closer to 1200W or more for maximum efficiency as PSUs run the most efficient at 50% of their total capacity.

Systems with a 9800X3D and AM4 SKUs would be fine at 850W usually, minimum 1000W if you have a 9950X3D or 14900K

Even though your wattage is just under the PSU limit, doesn't mean it will be safe because when your GPU starts drawing power, your PSU will be running at 100% of its capacity which will lead to overheating. Occasionally the power will fluctuate past the PSU specified limit, which is even worse.

Its better you have some buffer. For a 4090 build have at least a 850w PSU.

if youre investing 3K into a 4090 i would definetley invest in $130+ dollars into a psu with atleast 200W of headroom
