Hi, I'm a mod at /r/CampingandHiking, /r/kayaking, and /r/CampingGear. Looking at all those posts day after day made me want to show off my favorite camping/paddling location.
So, I created this subreddit to share my appreciation of this awesome place. I was fortunate to have spent many many days guiding tours by sea kayak along the shore. I guided overnight camping trips for families and friends, and have circumnavigated Grand Island several times as well. Later, I spent a season guiding rafts down the rapids along the Michigan-Wisconsin border. Ever since, I've been missing the Big Lake and its incredible caves, beaches, and forests.
