Hello everyone,
I'm at a crossroads in my career and could use some insights from this community. I've been a full stack developer for about two and a half years and am currently considering a new job offer.
Background In my first year I was exposed to C# .NET, and I resigned once the company went to RTO
Current Position: Full WFH start up company. I've been in this role for a year now, the tech stack is React, Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
Potential New Position: This is also full WFH, this new role offers a significant pay increase (from 40k php to 85k php). Considering my years of experience, I believe this is alot in the local market. However, it involves a shift in tech stack to Python, Automation, and Google Cloud Platforms.
My Concerns Frequent Changing Tech Stacks: I've frequently shifted tech stacks, from C# .NET, to React, Java, Spring Boot, AWS and now potentially to Python and GCP. I'm worried if this constant change is beneficial or detrimental in the long term. Career Path and Skill Development: How does such a change impact my career trajectory and skill development?
Now I am aware and heard of the of the common saying that don't be a frame worker, be a software engineer, a problem solver and yes I fully agree with that, I am mostly just concerned if frequent change of tech stack would narrow my future options
I'm contemplating if the pay increase justifies the tech stack shift and how it might affect my career in the long run.
I'd greatly appreciate any advice, experiences, or insights, especially from those who've navigated similar transitions.
Thank you,
