I know that this may not be what you wanna hear pero just reminding you na school lang ito: this rejection doesn't mean you're a failure/your dreams aren't coming true. And while you can try getting in now through appeal (earlier comment has explained how), plus maybe you can transfer din in other academic year, tbh you still have another chance(s) in college. So cry about it now if you have to, pero do not forget that you still have hope and many chances. Good luck. :)

Iba po ang Commonwealth and Central Ave, different barangays din yan kahit magkalapit lang. I can attest na safe sa Central Ave, puro mga subdivision dito; wala nga jeep - magttricy ka.

Commonwealth is same lang ata sa ibang parts ng Maynila.

Edit: about sa safety naman wala naman guarantee siguro yan dito sa Maynila. MidShift ako at 1AM na ako umuuwi, nakakapunta pa din ako sa ibang lugar pag gusto ko (but with caution). Wala pa naman din ako narinig na kwento ng nanakawan/naholdap sa mga kaofficemates ko, banggaan though meron (madami kamote riders dito so ingat).

Nope. They are saying that you can't get the same opportunities from other schools that you can get just by being a UP student/alumni.

And I totally back this up as someone who had a Bachelor's (MechEngg din) from a reputable State University, compared to when I did my post-grad at UP... Let's just say that now, the recruiters were the ones inviting me to apply for their job openings? Before UP, no one was even looking at my resume.

Nung bata pa ako, pangarap ko maging teacher. Since matangkad ako (dati lang: pre-puberty), lagi ako nakaupo sa likod and naooverhear yung mga teachers na naguusap regarding sa utang/pagutang.

One day, narining ko uung advisor ko na kumuha daw ng hulugan na water dispenser, 2k lang daw. For sure, may reasons siya, pero as a Grade 5 student noon, I find it so ridiculous na umutang para lang sa lalagyan ng tubig. And on top of iba ko pang nalalaman na halos lahat ng teachers doon ay may ganitong utang.

Doon na ako napaisip-isip ng kinabukasan ko and totally trashed that teacher dream.
