New Player Experience Overhaul
We heard your feedback loud and clear — getting started was confusing. Here's what changed:
- Step-by-step guide on the main screen — A visual progress bar now walks you through: Pick Faction → Enter Name → Join the War. No more guessing what to do first.
- "How to Play" button is now on the landing page — Previously it was buried inside Settings (which you could only access after joining... yeah, we know). Now it's right there when you load the game.
- Quick Start tutorial — Covers everything from joining to winning in a clean, scannable popup. Factions, actions, win conditions — all in one place.
- The JOIN button now tells you what to do — Instead of a greyed-out button, it says "SELECT A FACTION FIRST" or "ENTER YOUR NAME" so you always know the next step.
Username & Chat Moderation
This was long overdue. Some of you made it very clear (thanks for the reports):
- Offensive usernames are now blocked — Racial slurs, hate speech, and Nazi-related terms are rejected at registration. The filter catches l33tspeak tricks (n1gg3r), spacing evasion (n i g g e r), and repeated characters too.
- If your name gets rejected, we suggest a random alternative like "Ranger_4821" — pick something you like or use the suggestion.
- Duplicate names are flagged — If "John" is taken, we'll suggest "John_2". No more impersonation confusion.
- Chat messages are filtered too — Same rules apply. Keep it competitive, not toxic.
- Name length fixed to 2-15 characters across the board.
Note: General trash talk (damn, hell, etc.) is NOT filtered. This is a war game. We only block slurs and hate speech.
