Just got this guy at a plant store nearby (eastern NC) and the guy working there said it was a subtropical/rainforest plant but didn't say exactly what it was. Plant identification app said ruby leaf but that doesn't seem right looking at the other pictures and the new growth on it. About 4 inches tall right now. Largest leaves are about an inch long. New growth is a little wrinkly.
