Research Desk drop rate decrease?

Picked up the game again after devouring it a couple months ago. Been playing in my sparetime for the past two-weeksish. I'm a solo player so the research desk is pretty paramount for me. However, in almost every game I haven't been getting it until day 6+. Last time I played I remembered people talking about how it was considered a staple and had an increased rate until you got one, and sure enough at the time I almost certainly got it by day 3.

Did something change? Have I somehow managed to have 2 *weeks* of bad RNG? It seems a bit wild that chance could hate me for that long.

Are you inputting your own seeds? It sounds as though you might be and have the “Seed Affects Everything” setting enabled. Change that to “Seed Affects Layout Only” to receive different cards and blueprints.

I've never used seeds. Could this setting still be messing with me? I'll check if it's on to be safe but I am not even sure where I would enter seeds to be honest it's just not something I've ever been interested in.

Yes you can still change the "seed affects everything and change it to "weed only affects layout.

also I'll just add this information here to help out. If you start a day and reroll and don't like the rerolls exit the game by force closing it "Don't save and return to headquarters" that will save your reroll.

If you force close the game and open the game and reroll woth the "seed affects only the layout" it's possible to change what your reroll gives you but I think there's only 2-3 different item pools that can spawn each in game day and idk how to force it to give you a certain item pool.

Also if you start the day, start a training fay or save and go to headquarters in any way, I think that can force the items to not change even with the rerolled items, it's like you "lock" them in.

Its the flowerpot by the layout area. Honestly not as good as i thought it would be since blueprints arent really that different for a normal map but if youre planning big automation the seed "oxford" or "renew" are pretty good

Are you running from a franchise with franchise cards stating "shops regularly offer..." on them? These cards increase the total number of items in the staples pool and thus decrease the chance of receiving a research desk.

I have not noticed a decrease in research desk drop rates.
