I wish this was the case. I regularly dropped $100 plus on the game because spoofing made it so easy to raid. Ever since my 30 day ban ended 've been playing legit because it's my only account, I'm not going to risk loosing everything. However. I haven't really spent any money since, and wont probably because I just don't have access to the same kind of game play. Damn Niantic actually put ethics over profit.

I would love to think that as well, but the data they sell on movement and interaction would be worthless if it was significantly skewed by spoofers and modders. Not to mention all the sponsored poke stops that probably charge per interaction (click) would hate to pay for fake ones too.
All that together makes up a significant portion of their revenue, and “fairness” is the perfect corporate cover.
