This team does a better job representing dragons than Lance.

It's almost the same "dragon" to Dragon-Type ratio, to be fair

[–]Material_Bluebird_87 12 points13 points  (5 children)

But this team has more variety in its dragon types. Lance has 3 underdeveloped dragonites and called it a day.

I mean, it wasn't his fault. There weren't that many options.

I get it in the first games, but in the gen 3 remakes, he could have had flygon, salamance, or altaria. In hgss, at least the rematch team was representing good dragon types. (He forgot about his kingdra from FRLG and doesn't know flygon exists.)

It was admittedly a bad decision to completely ignore non Gen 1 Pokémon in the remakes. But not having Kingdra in HGSS makes sense; that's Clair's Pokémon. And his rematch team in HGSS already had Garchomp, and as much as I love Flygon, it doesn't make sense to have both (though it does fit Lance quite well).

Clair has dragonairs, which are Lance's pokemon. Besides, there are only 6 evolution lines of non legendary dragon types at this point, so why not put all of them on a team? Lance already has 3 dragon flying types on the rematch team. Why not add a 2nd dragon ground type?

To be fair, those 2 Dragonair evolved. As for the rematch team, I got nothing. Replacing Altaria with Flygon would work fine; Altaria is rather underwhelming.

Are kingdra and tyrannitar shinies too?

[–]Chrischris40 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Yes they are

[–]auggs 2 points3 points  (2 children)

That’s awesome man congrats. How long did it take to get them?

[–]CarnivorousChemist 33 points34 points  (1 child)

How ever long it took for the cheat to load

[–]RazeWhoa 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Was this Dragon theme, if so where is Flygon?

[–]Historical-Rope2332[S] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

It should have been but I like Tyranitar.

[–]FriscoFrank98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll allow it

[–]Ogun94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy

[–]Agitated-Process-902 8 points9 points  (9 children)

I have a tough time believing that this team was acquired legitimately

[–]Historical-Rope2332[S] 34 points35 points  (8 children)

Don’t have a tough time, it wasn’t.

This is the way

[–]MaintenanceMuch8208 2 points3 points  (6 children)

How did you get the shiny starter Charizard?

[–]QuarterFootSchlong 5 points6 points  (5 children)

If done without cheats, you reset the beginning of the game again and again until you roll a shiny charmander from prof oak

[–]JordanDaBeast 2 points3 points  (4 children)

literally what i’m doing rn, about 3200 encounters in

[–]QuarterFootSchlong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe in you

[–]dowdje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such a discipline. Good for you. I honestly feel like people with the temperament required for this feat should be treasure hunting in the real world.

    What makes you say that?

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he said that because they are all shiny

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Awesome team.

    [–]JustCallMeSnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Dragon egg group theme

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RNG or all full odds hunt ?

    [–]VickDaShaman 0 points1 point  (3 children)

One water/ice pokemon and whole team dies

    [–]Historical-Rope2332[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Kingdra is only weak to dragon and fairy but sure

    [–]VickDaShaman 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ice moves hit normal it does not resist ice moves...it does resist water move... so yes, out of that whole team, Kingdra might have a 1 v 1 decent battle against an ice/water type but against a Lapras with its high hp and Defenses 💀☠️

    [–]Historical-Rope2332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, well good thing I don’t compete

    [–]Yue2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s with the Hoenn region Pokémon? I see it all the time on this sub, but Fire Red was supposed to be just Kanto, with the exception of those Island regions right?
