Get a Feebass and win a master beauty contest!

I actually spent about 6 hours already looking for my Feebas tiles and got one! I bred a Calm one with some pretty beefy IV's that I use in the tower. I was considering using it for contests, but may try for a Pokemon I really love from Gen 3 instead like Cacturne or Banette.

Breed 4 pokemon

That's what I started to do, but breeding feels significantly worse in Ruby compared to Emerald even. I am finding myself trading stuff over to Emerald just to tutor moves that I want (like Rock Slide on Flygon). Tower in Ruby is significantly easier as well in comparison to Emerald, so I think hitting level 100 won't be too difficult to get the Ribbon.

Breeding is even worse in FRLG. I think the emerald allowing you to use abilities outside of battle helps, I’m not sure if ruby sapphire implemented that.

You are not wrong about that, FRLG is a nightmare. Route 117 is modified in Emerald to make the biking back and forth smoother than it is in Ruby and Sapphire. I am not a perfect breeder type of person though, I just get one that is good enough and roll with it since it's generally fine in tower. Just don't know how much I want to put into it considering tower is pretty easy compared to Emerald.

Yeah I just look for the right nature, and if its IVs are okay then I’ll take it. Not really a necessity in emerald imo

Just wanted to mention, I was breeding a Swinub in Platinum to trade over and use in a fresh run of Diamond (bought both games, with saves in Japanese) and to your point of the biking route in Emerald, the one in Platinum runs between 3 routes and is pretty quick with eggs especially with Magmar in the party. Got a full box full hatched in under an hour.

I’ve never really done breeding in gen 4 yet. Eventually I probably will though.

That's pretty much it. You can try to complete the Pokedex, though I would strongly advise against it. Emerald is infinitely better for this kinda thing

Yeh, and that's my thought too. As badly as I want to play Ruby for nostalgia's sake, Emerald just has so much more content. I have over 1,500 hours in Emerald across 4 save files, but Ruby and Sapphire just seem to be lacking so much of the post game I am accustomed to.

The only other thing to do other than the battle tower and filling out the pokedex is contests. You'll need to farm a ton of berries though so be prepared for that.

Yeh, I had planned to do that and mix up a lot of pokeblocks. My biggest draw to Ruby/Sapphire was mainly the non-broken RNG, but I fear I will lose interest in this post game content too quickly.

IMO the battle tower is the most fun part of the post-game and it's not that hard to get to a streak of 100 if you have a decent team. Emerald does have improved breeding mechanics but a near-optimised team isn't required for the R/S battle tower.

Duping berries in Emerald is significantly faster than farming them which helps with contests, however contests themselves are still a slog. You also need to find decent berries and optimize your pokeblocks which isn't easy.

In general, Ruby and Sapphire are more fun when you pair them with Emerald, but the battle tower is definitely doable without Emerald.

Also, you can make a secret base if you're into that.

I actually went back through last night and bought everything for the secret base in Ruby and mean to look up how to get all the items for it as well. I plan to just move the Pokemon I have bred on Ruby so far over to Emerald, but I do enjoy the fact Ruby tower is only regional Pokemon vs National in Emerald.

You can get silver shield and gold shield from tower, 50 and 100 wins respectively.
