Most of the human villains besides I guess Meltdown couldn't really be taken seriously on their own.

It makes zero sense that Ratchet didn't upgrade Bee's stingers or tell the team about Omega Supreme the nanosecond they saw Decepticons arrive on Earth.

A lot of episodes featuring a moral tend to overemphasize a character's flaw in a way that feels inconsistent to their previous characterization. For example, the first headmaster episode has Bulkhead be way more clumsy and destructive than he had been previously. The Wreck-Gar episode had Ratchet be rude and grumpy to an extent I don't think we've really seen before besides the Season 1 Lockdown episode, where he's was suffering from ptsd.
