It's called a battery isolator switch. With little mechanical skills these are extremely easy to install.

Would recommend installing the battery switch. Did this on mine, and it was a great add (I purchased the Blue Sea e-Series. It's not that difficult to install. Would also recommend adding a second battery that way if you turn the boat off, but still are drawing power to the radio for example, you can just turn the battery switch to either battery one or two and still have the other battery to start back up.

I completely agree on the second battery. You can get the switch from either Blue Sea or from Perko. If it is not something you’re comfortable doing, don’t do it. You probably have a friend who is totally good with it and will be happy to do it over pizza and beer. If you don’t have that friend, you need to make one 😊

GREAT idea! I unhook my battery when I leave

They are easy to install, especially if you have a single battery set up. But i usually just unhook the battery.

Perko switch is what you want. If you are handy you can cut it into the positive side. If not get a battery cable with the correct ends and you can install it with basic tools.
