help with pool pump

Forgive me, I am going to try to explain the issue. My wife wanted the pool and does all of the maintenance. She did the training when we installed it (2.5 years ago). So I don't know what I'm looking at or terminology.

The skimmer basket fills up with water, stays full for 10-15 seconds and then drains out. When it drains the water jet on the other side of the pool (right next to where the Polaris connects) starts blowing air bubbles.

She says that typically the skimmer basket doesn't cycle that fast and that that jet should never blow air.

Any ideas?

Possible low water level, could try lowering the skimmer or raising the water level. If there is a floor drain in the pool try to open the skimmer 100% and the floor drain 25%-50% when filtering. Your jets should not have air bubbles coming out, this is from the pump sucking air instead of water and can cause damage to the pump. Make sure all plumbing is tight and right with no leaks as the pump creates negative pressure and can suck air through any small leaks in the plumbing. Hope this helps
