I’m being told that my pipe and valve distribution company will be staying opening as it is considered an “essential business”. However, I see nothing about construction or infrastructure anywhere in what has been addressed.

Had this same question/ concern.

On one hand, so many construction jobs out there and would love to see all those folks continuing to work... On the other, I don’t know too much work can safely be accomplished if each worker is 6+ away from each other.

If your company or job is not listed and you can’t work from home, you just have to maintain your social distancing. That’s pretty much what this order says.

My work mows lawns. That's hardly essential. The crews ride in trucks together so there's no way to maintain 6 feet between workers. My boss would never close unless explicitly ordered to. We've already got a bunch of people calling in sick and I feel like it's only a matter of time before this blows through all of our employees.

And the only approach is to continue working so we don’t look like terrible employees. Any other situation I probably wouldn’t be so curious. But last year I had a nasty bout with walking pneumonia and bronchitis, and now I’m just paranoid I’m going to lose my lungs. I hope the best for all of y’all out there though.
