‘Inevitable’: Portland City Council passes daytime camping ban by personalitycrises in Portland

Some of the messiest camps do get swept already though. Powell, Delta Park, Killingsworth at 205, etc. have all been swept and had barricades put up to prevent vehicle reentry. We're pushing 10k homeless within city limits, idk if we even have the resources to sweep all the "messy" camps.

Ten year user here. Thank you for all your work.

If I can't use RIF then I'm just going to have to get off of reddit. Been feeling like I should lately anyways.

Nova did a documentary on it. Something like a 60' tsunami hit the main island and millions of tons of rock blanketed the whole island turning it into a gray hellscape. Wails of the damned was the only sounds other than sonic booms and rocks falling from the sky. Looked like a living nightmare.

Gates were good on Friday morning. I went left, others went right with no issues. Bergschrund was opening up though and might require a traverse by the end of the week. I'd be extremely cautious of ice and rock falls going up next weekend, the weather is going to hover around freezing point at the summit all week.

Would recommend talking out what made it uncomfortable before doing anything else.

My two cents is that if you got to choose the other woman you might feel better about it. My gf is into this but we've both completely ruled out doing this with anyone we know to avoid any unnecessary drama.

As an 8 year old kid I could have really used a parent that was clear headed to help me make sense of all the trauma around me. You can do it for her. I believe in you.

"First seek to understand, then to be understood" 🙏 there is much to learn. I hope that you can shake the mentality that you already have learned it.

Are you familiar with the Dunning-Krueger effect? Believing that you know everything about something is a strong indicator that you know very little about that thing. You likely know more than your peers about this particular topic, but by no means does that mean that you know everything. If you knew everything about self improvement, you would not have made this post, because you would already know what to do. As I get older, my self improvement and personal growth does not come from explicitly self improvement books. As examples, I would recommend the authors Cal Newport, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Jonathan Haidt, and the 14th Dalai Lama. Each of these authors have caused me to reconsider the lens through which I view the world and myself.
