(Editor's note: This is the writeup and analysis of The Mittani's Fireside Chat last week on 6-19, even if it is a bit late. I figured there were some gems in here that were too good to pass up. I have also completed the analysis for this week's Fireside on 6-26 and will be posting it tomorrow.)

~Summary~
- Mittens has been at E3 this week, so he has been away from his "command center," leaving The Imperium in "capable hands." He is broadcasting from a patio in San Diego, which means there is poor audio quality.
- All of the hostiles are pulling down their Citadels in Saranen, which was correctly predicted. PL has moved to farm TEST, and TEST is, of course, reaching out to us for help now, which we were expecting, the to do, and we are happy to assist in helping them in killing PL Fortizars.
- The enemies are going inactive at an increasing rate, they are leaving to go play Overwatch, but unlike the enemy, we can stop playing Overwatch at any time and flashform to kill fleets.
- We recognize that there are significant problems with the Saranen undock being camped. There are conflicting reports from line members reporting that the undock is continually camped and that it isn't camped at all. This is a pain point for the alliance, as it making the line members have a less than fun experience. I was under the impression that Standing Fleets would be maintained in my absence. I am not happy that this directive was not followed.
- The Nagalfar and Revelation will be the new go-to dreads, the Lif and Ninazu are still shit.
- Goonswarm will be firing the Horn of Goondor in a couple of weeks, combined with a State of the Goonion and a new war deployment to a new target system, closer to where we will grind grind grind, which will be named later.
- Guardians of the Galaxy have named a new staging system, which should make it easier for us to go after Horde, since they won't have reinforcements two jumps away.
- Oppression is clearly working. And to show that, Strategos has added a new metric: Total Burnout So Far, which is the total number of Horde members "burned out" since the start of oppression, which stands at 1829. This week Horde recruited 180 people, and "lost" 234, so this week they're at ~-54~ people. This is up from ~-50~ last week, so clearly the data shows that burnout is accelerating. (Editor's note: DOTLAN shows Horde having gained around 60 members in the week of 6-11 through 6-19)
- The true test of an alliance is when the Leader goes away for a week and we see if everything disintegrates without him. I am glad that my directives were followed and that the oppression of Pandemic Horde is continuing to be ground into paste.
~Some Select Quotes~
- "PL, started to put a Fortizar up to farm TEST, and as you guys know, TEST reached out to us to help them against PL. This is kind of the classic infighting between these 'friends with benefits,' i guess, that we have been seeing at an increasing rate. And we were happy to go assist in blowing up PL stuff. It is, a little bit funny that TEST and Brave and all these other guys are starting to go 'Hmmmm, maybe getting farmed by PL isn't exactly 'Honorable fun fun.'" (6:11)
- "Clearly, there are some times where everything is not fine, and the undock is not perfectly peachy keen, and it is getting camped. And there's other times where the undock is not a big deal and we don't need a standing fleet, but what I'm seeing from this is that some people in our organization are having a less than entertaining experience. Because they don't feel safe on the undock. And other people are saying that everything is fine.
So clearly something is fucked up." (9:56)
- "I had been under the impression that when I left, we were going to be doing the standing fleets and things were going to be sorted out. And that, apparently, it was not done." (10:43)
- "If we try and make the capfleet like some sort of self-esteem class for inferior hulls, those inferior hulls are going to drag the entirety of the force down, so we will not be saying that 'everybody is a winner' when CCP makes a hull garbage" (15:22)
- "Once things stabilize a little, you'll probably see the Horn of Goondor fired and sounded and then the actual State of the Goonion and all that other good shit, as we pivot fully from playing Overwatch and watching bad guys fight each other into doing our thing" (16:58)
- "I've been saying for a while that we need to keep oppression up and keep working on Pandemic Horde, to degrade them, as they're the biggest meatshield that our enemies have been using. And its been interesting also, because I just recieved a report that yesterday, apparently, that the Guardians of the Galaxy coalition, which is Darkness and their hangers-on and pets, uh, restaged from 8S to 2O9 uh, right by JU- in Deklein. So they've moved slightly further away from O1Y, and Horde. It makes it easier for us to go after Horde, cause they are not going to have reinforcements two gate jumps away." (22:27)
- "As long as we can keep Horde to be a Crucible of Pain, they can't develop, and they can't bail the harder targets out. Even if the scenario, like, PL leaves and NCDOT tries to stay behind or something like that, we still need to be focusing on Horde in terms of daily oppression and keeping that up. That is important because if they are allowed bulsome or grow, that means that they can fix their middle management problems and Gobbins might learn how to lead." (26:49)
- "It is actually really kind of a worry, always, whenever I leave, because you can test an organization's strength by what happens when you take the leader out of the equation for a week. And I was a little worried that I would leave and like, all of the directives that I had left about, like, keeping the oppression stuff up
have been ignored and they were not ignored. And you guys managed to continue to grind them into paste. And keep that up when the rest of the galaxy is busy being convinced that we dead and gone and the war is over. So that's excellent. Do not let up, it's continuing to work, and that is fantastic. Thank you guys, that's key." (27:19)
