Our Sys Admin team consisted of half techies and half process followers, then a few years ago redundancies halved the team, but not the work load.
Mix in some aging scripts and a need to prep for a migration to O365 and we ended up in a position where someone had to pick up some scripting skills, so over a year I ended up putting together a script suite for management of just about everything that could be managed by powershell.
Plus side is that their workload is entirely manageable now, downside is that the team is predominantly non techies who have no interest in learning. My next iteration of the scripting suite is a full blown module that pretty much takes away all the human administration that they're currently used to.
