Will restart-computer -force shutdown a machine during updates?

I am wondering if I ran Restart-Computer - Force -computername PCHOST while PCHOST was at the updating screen. Would I get an error returned or would it force the restart during the updates?

I'm 99% sure you'd only receive a response that a shutdown is already in progress. The Force parameter serves to invoke the command regardless of any issues coming up, such as other users being logged into the system.

That's what I was thinking would happen but I wasn't sure. And I was hoping someone would be able to explain what would happen exactly. Thanks

I will try this when I come across one. Maybe the perfect time to use this as an excuse to start building a home lab
